KIM ANSPACH APPOINTED TO THE GOVERNOR’S COUNCIL ON TRAVEL AND TOURISM
Lawrence, KS, April 4, 2024 - eXplore Lawrence is proud to announce that Governor Kelly has appointed Kim Anspach, the Executive Director of eXplore Lawrence, to the Kansas Governor’s Council on Travel and Tourism.
Anspach, a distinguished figure in the tourism industry, brings a wealth of expertise and experiences to the Council. As a testament to her dedication and qualifications, Anspach will serveon the Council through 2025, serving a pivotal role in shaping initiatives and promoting the growth and sustainability of the travel and tourism sector in our state.
The Kansas Legislature formed the Governor’s Council on Travel and Tourism in 1987. The duties of the council are to:
- Report to Kansas Tourism to help prepare for the annual tourism budget
- Identify and review tourism-related issues, state policies, and programs that affect tourism in the state
- Advise Kansas Tourism in the development and implementation of marketing and business development. This includes long-range strategies for attracting visitors to Kansas.
- Recommend the adoption of new or modification of existing policies and programs if needed.
Anspach’s impressive career spans over 10 years in the tourism industry, where she has demonstrated a deep understanding of the dynamics of the travel and tourism landscape. Her previous roles have equipped her with a unique perspective on industry trends, stakeholder engagement, and marketing strategies, all of which will be instrumental in her new position.
