St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Just your luck…
The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is back!
Due to the pandemic, for the first time in 33 years, the 2020 parade was canceled.
This year, since the world is upside-down, we will be doing a ‘reverse’ parade: so instead of the entries passing you by, passersby can stroll down decorated storefronts to stay in the spirit. From March 5th – March 17th safely visit downtown on your own time to enjoy the community’s outreach.
Please mask up and respect your neighbors’ distance!
#UnmistakablyLucky Photo Contest
Be sure to stop by the Lawrence Visitors Center at 812 Mass Street for a fun photo op and a chance to win an Unmistakably Lawrence Pot o’ Gold.
A little history
The Lawrence St. Patrick’s Day Parade began in 1988 while a few friends of Irish heritage sat in a local pub enjoying a frothy pint. Finbar Collins, Bill Sullivan, and Wink Guenther collaborated with local businessmen Wes Kabler, Gene Shaughnessy and Mike Jones to hatch the plan that would become a long-standing tradition in Lawrence.
