Lawrence, Kansas – Our community finally has its own PRIDE organization! Lawrence PRIDE aims to promote equality, visibility, and acceptance for all individuals regardless of their sexual orientation and gender identity.
Lawrence PRIDE will host a range of events and activities throughout the year, including community gatherings, film showings, advocacy efforts, and the upcoming Queer Prom. The organization will also work closely with local businesses and organizations to create a supportive and inclusive environment for the LGBTQ+ community in Lawrence, Kansas.
“We are thrilled to launch Lawrence PRIDE and provide a safe and welcoming space for all members of the LGBTQ+ community in Lawrence,” says Director Cody Murray. “Our goal is to bring people together, raise awareness, and make a positive impact on the lives of those who need it.”
Previously, I Heart Local Music hosted the annual PRIDE celebration. Over the past year, the publication has been assembling the Lawrence PRIDE committee to ensure longevity and prosperity for the queer community. Details on the annual PRIDE celebration in June will be announced at a later date.
